Siam NSK Steering Systems Co., Ltd. began producing steering columns in Thailand in 1995.
The plant attained ISO14001 certification in 2000.
Global Warming Countermeasures
The plant is tackling global warming by making efficient use of energy.
Production lines are being made more efficient to save energy. In fiscal 2008, energy consumption was reduced 6% from the previous year.
Energy saving is also being promoted in the office. This is being achieved through everyday actions, such as turning off lights and air conditioning during break times, and switching to energy-efficient lighting.
Air and Water Pollution Countermeasures
The plant makes regular biannual checks of wastewater and gas emissions to ensure no damage is made to the environment. In 2008, the plant passed not only legally acceptable standards, but also the NSK's Group's stricter internal standards.
